Ever since I was pregnant with Noam, I’ve tried to be super conscious of the brands and products I’m purchasing. My tenets of purchasing are:

1. buy natural

2. buy small and local

3. buy beautiful and ethical

There are so. many. kid’s. brands. out there, that it can feel overwhelming (and it’s also really easy to shop at the big box stores - I do it, too), but it’s really important to me to not only feel good about WHAT I’m buying but WHO I’m supporting.

So I decided I was going to round up some of my favorite brands who are women-run and fueled by enormous amounts of love in the hopes that this’ll spark a conversation about who we’re putting our dollars behind.

i love…

Bannor Toys - I’ve been a fan of Stacey and her gorgeous wooden toys for a long time. Shop my favorite teether (that Harvest color!), alphabet learning tiles and bunny push toy (perfect for Easter!).

Murray and Finn - I feel SO lucky to live near Erica & Murray and Finn’s brick & mortar shop in Summit, NJ. It’s just a breath of fresh air and always has the most gorgeously curated collection of baby & kid things. I’m in love with my new jumpsuit and the book selection.

Toki Mats - I discovered Eli’s amazing new company not too long ago - she launched recently! - and I’m already obsessed. We have TokiTime™ every day on this super soft mat - seriously, we sometimes will squeeze all four of us plus two dogs. This clover print is my favorite, and I have my eye on

Hannah Made Shop - I was recently introduced to Hannah and her shop, and couldn’t love the heart behind it any more. After struggling with infertility and miscarriages, Hannah began creating hand-painted rainbow tops and onesies. They’re absolutely beautiful, and the meaning behind them is just perfect.

Leader Bag Co.- It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Leader Bag Co. I’ve been using Meghan’s bags as diaper bags and everything-in-between-bags since Noam was super little. Noam uses his mini nylon backpack every day, I use my matching canvas backpack every day, and this is the chicest change kit I’ve ever seen (I have it in navy but need this tan one STAT!).

Rose & Rex - I was introduced to Rose & Rex sometime last year and instantly fell in love with the heart that Allie has. As a former early childhood educator, she’s dedicated to encouraging imaginative play for all children, and she is probably the sweetest person I know. We love our Calm Mind Kit that encourages mindfulness (for all of us), Noam loves his Earthtiles and Ira loves his activity elephant.

Pehr Designs - Another favorite for a long time, Pehr (and its founders, Jen and Becca) create gorgeous baby & kid items. I am a HUGE fan of their pints and bins and use them for everything from storing books, toys and blankets, to organizing the car, to using them as functional (not disposable!) gift bags. We also love the new rugs, and I’m madly in love with the new Happy Days collection.
